AIA Connecticut Emerging Architectural Community Committee Chair

Made up of interns, Associates, or recently licensed architects, this committee is geared toward "newer" members of the profession. In addition to community activities, such as CANstruction®, leadership opportunities and various social/networking events, the committee sponsors the annual A.R.E. Licensing Exam Review Course, which reviews the substance of the architectural licensing exam.

AIA Connecticut now has a full set of the Architectural License Seminars' "Computer Mock Exams" and "Home Study" Guide Books. These materials can be borrowed for a period of two weeks at a time by AIA Connecticut members only. Please stop by the AIA Connecticut offices at 87 Willow Street in New Haven or call 203-865-2195.

The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) recently published the results of its Architecture Practice Analysis Study, a comprehensive analysis of the profession of architecture as it is practiced today. More than 1,700 participants, including practitioners, educators, interns, major consumers of architectural services and other professionals whose work interfaces with architects, contributed to this extensive survey. This study is available for review by anyone who would like to borrow it from the AIA Connecticut library.


Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship Fund

The AIA National Associates Committee (NAC) is proud to announce the establishment of a scholarship fund to remember their friend and colleague, Jason Pettigrew, Assoc. AIA.

In recognition of his contributions to internship and licensure, and the profession–including his own pursuit of the ARE–the National Associates Committee has created the Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship Fund. With your support, donations to this fund will be used to build on Jason’s efforts of promoting professional development and licensure by awarding ARE Scholarships in his honor.

The 2008 A.R.E. Review Series

The AIA Connecticut Emerging Architectural Community announces the annual series of evening lectures intended to help candidates prepare for the Architect Registration Examination. Although the actual exam is in electronic format, the lectures will address the substance of the exam content. Building Planning, Building Technology and Site Planning will incorporate actual examples using A.R.E. software.
