The 2009 International Residential Code (IRC) is scheduled for fall adoption and implementation. Architects with residential projects that will be underway in the second half of the year are advised to consult this code as they begin their design work.

At this program, Tim York, Building Inspector for the Town of Colchester, will review some of the essential changes in the new code and in the draft supplement. Tim is past president of the Connecticut Building Officials Association (CBOA), Connecticut representative to the New England Building Officials Education Association, member of the National Fire Protection Association Building Code Development Committee, and member of the State Sprinkler Task Force. He has presented programs on the 2009 IRC to many audiences.

Among the topics that Tim will cover are changes from the 2003 IRC in the areas of Energy Efficiency; Building Planning; Foundations and Floors; Wall Construction and Wall Coverings; Roof Assemblies; Vents; Exhaust; and Duct Systems.

This program is being offered for those who were not able to enroll in the April and June IRC programs.
